The Day After Tomorrow

The key thing with this film is that it's a climate disaster film from the same person that did Independance Day - at this point you should have a pretty good idea of what the film will do, and it does it well. There's the slow build-up to the eventual special effects extravaganza and then the more drawn out personal rescue mission. The science is blown up to make it more exciting and there's possibly an over-abundance of characters, and some pacing issues but it's a good fun film.
