This film is just plain poor. It's not even bad enough to be amusing like The Core or something similar. The characters have barely any character, beyond the 2 leads there's a huge number of similar looking people in suits, the short guy and the guy from Six Feet Under. The concept was ok enough I guess, just got buried in a John Woo action movie. It completley lacked any real feel of being set in the future beyond the occasional gimic prop. The whole thing was just flat and dull with the "pull something out of the envelope" getting real old real quick. Oh and why on earth did they insist on continually giving us flashbacks? We only watched the original scene 10 minutes ago, credit your audience with some intelligence please.
Save yourself. Watch Minority Report again instead.

I think there might have been a good film screaming under the piles of dire dialogue and vapid acting that was Paycheck. I find myself wondering if we shoudl put it out of it's misery.

I thought it was quite fun - it reminded me of MacGyver...

I really quite enjoyed it as an hour's mindless entertainment. It got a good reception at PicoCon - the big screen helped, and there was much merriment at the unintentional comedy.

It'd be good as a lunchtime video - much nitpicking to be had.

Although it would have been a far better film if they'd cut the 30 seconds of explaining how the machine was supposed to work - super-lenses and all...

I agree with Jakob and John. It was a good couple hours' of mindless entertainment; after looking at some preview articles I wasn't exactly hoping for character depth or an interesting plot or anything.

I disagree with Jakob on one point though, the 30 seconds of explaining how the machine "works" was hilarious :D
