ICSF Front Page Updated

Posted by Kvetch (28th Aug 2008, 14:56)

Feedback sought.

Specifically, I have been playing around with the icsf front page to put the news feed and upcoming events on display. I would appreciate some feedback on this from people, as well as general visual impressions and feature requests.

Apologies for invading your LJ feed/etc.

Admittedly, part of the reason for posting this was to test the aforementioned changes - but I do want feedback too.

Ok better now, looks like the server was being flaky :)

Suggestion - reformat some of the insert on the front page to compact them a bit? Maybe take out the intro text on the news snippets and leave them as a title, poster and date. Maybe combine the recent books updates into this list too?

That way you could split that part of the page into 3 parts not to and have: the webcam photo, events list, recent news. This would look neater?

Not much you can do about the serve being crap :)

looks useful :)

The "Read More" link at the top of the news posts should be to http://www.union.ic.ac.uk/scc/icsf/frameset.php?warp=news so that they get the Social side menu. The one for events is already ok. Unfortunately you probably can't do anything about the internal links!
