Combine Teysa with Swirl the Mists (www.wizards.com) to break the game...

I like the hate seed too although that's less tricky.

Indeed, I think when I build an Izzet deck I'll opt to ignore that combo in order to keep it fun.

I don't know about the Ravnica universe, but its a common misconception that Pontiff = Pope. It actually just means bishop. (The Pope being the supreme pontiff)

also from another magazine:

Scab Clan Mauler (www.hraj.cz)

and Scrye:

the mauler looks like it could be a RG version of watchwolf - as if RG is not going to find a way to damage a player!

I like the nephilim - almost psychatogesque; presuambly ther's a cycle of these? (since it's a 4-colour creature)

here's a rules knowledge tester for ya, this combo:

Izzet Guildmage, Lave spike (www.wizards.com) and Desperate Ritual (www.wizards.com) wins you the game for 6 mana...

Can you see how?

 Stephen Baines ( 19th Jan 2006, 08:29, Rank: Ewok )  reply

Seems like alot of these cards are a bit too powerful to me, but oh well

read biography for - karne

 karne ( 19th Jan 2006, 13:17, Rank: GSV )  reply

There seems to be a general trend towards powerful but highly situational or fragile cards. Keep in mind the classic old deck types, e.g. white weenie, permission/counter-blast, goblin or suicide black. Against these archtypes, many of the cards described arn't that great. They'll either get removed or are too slow.

Not that this is a problem in multiplayer where crazy swingy cards rule the roost. Personally i think it's great to have power cards rather than power themes - I still havn't recovered from affinity!

hmm hosers, but fun ones..

some fuss on the mtg sites, seems Wizards have sued a long time mod on mtgsalvation (rancored elf) over leaked cards from Snap (the set after Dissention).
