A somewhat tricky choice given only three votes! Out of interest - what did you chose?

I just embraced the fact that I'm a media fan and went for Firefly, Battlestar and Farscape - although I really wanted B5, Forever War, Mote in God's Eye, 2001 and Serenity in there too ;0)

b5, farscape, firefly (new galactica would be next)

ok despite karne's attempts to get me to read more, i guess i'm still mainly a media fan... i find it very difficult to vote for a 'mere' book over an entire 5+ year series. Is it even fair to do a comparison?

Yeah I think it's fair, many books i've read have had far more effect on me than any tv series.

ymmv as always though ]:=8)

Unsurprisingly, the 3 I went for were: dr who, HHTTG (book) and Dune (book)

though there were a couple of others that tempted me

'Cause they're easy to do. Roll on the poll of best ever polls!

I ended up going for Ring World, Diaspora and Solaris (book). I didn't see Dune the book on there...bah.

I liked some of the other books on there better, but they weren't necessarily better "sci-fi" (Iain Banks especially).

Am going to have to go with Karne on this one B5 Hitchhikers and 2001, although was tempted by Dune and Battlestar

Nights Dawn, Enders Game, B5. still more fantasy than SF in what i read.
