Dr Who ep 3

Posted by Siberman (10th Apr 2005, 09:23) - http://www.bbc.co.uk

Ep 3 seems to be continuing on in the same vein as the other two - that is being very good!

I like the fact that they are slipping in a tiny piece of the back story every episode.

(www.bbc.co.uk) would indicate that people argeed with you. Ratings up on last weeks episode to 8.3 million beating the grand national AND the royal wedding.

The Doctors obvious feeling of guilt in this one was also aparent (if not for himself then for the actions of his people) when 'the Time Wars' were mentioned.

Again a reasonably high body count of incidentals that have dialouge. They seem to be averaging about 2 an episode at the moment.

Overall i thought this was between the quality of the forst and the second episodes. But thats probaly because the second episode had such stunning (expensive) visuals and this one was more costume drama.

Once more the Doctor was really quite dark in places, although seemed to be a bit more human and normal (trying to fit into victorian Cardiff? or the scriptwriters trying to calm him down a bit after 2 manic ones?)

Back to spaceships nextweek woohoo.

I note that Dr Who is relegated to the 'cult' section of the bbc webpages whihc i suppose in most peoples minds means a few dedicated followers much like a religious cult. Unfortinatly the 'cult' label probably dosnt apply as viewing figurs show that the people sit down once a week to watch (if counted as such) would be the second largest religious grouping in the UK, cult no more!! We are now in teh mainstreaam ;]
