rocks!

if anyone is having trouble installing the extension, you need to a) have firefox 1.0 installed b) have the union set as a trusted source of extensions (click on 'edit options' on the green/yellow bar at the top and allow www.union.ic.ac.uk). Once you've done that, install the extension and restart 'fox.

speaking of extensions, some people might find FlashBlock very useful (flashblock.mozdev.org)

I have to use Firefox?

Pah.

Am I to suffer decreased functionality just 'cause I don't use the ICSF approved browser? Standards dammit, standards!

Bah mac-loving hippy - Firefox could take on *two* Safaris any day and win. Convincingly. With its mouse arm tied behind its back.

gaspode: one could argue it's safari that doesn't support one of the 'standard' extension formats ];=8)

Bit unfair really, better to blame Netscape/MS fusses for killing the plugin interface.

Right... For those who want the functionality, but not the Firefox, you can instead use this bookmarklet: Post News to icsf

here are versions of the above bookmarklet which deal with a few special cases i found while testing:

for Firefox - Post News to icsf

For IE: Post News to icsf

and both work in Safari ;) version we have here at least...

only difference from the extension is that it doesn't pop up a new window
