(www.trektoday.com) - and the Save Enterprise campaigns kick off.

Can't really say that I'm going to miss the show that much. I think it's a shame that it's cancelled now just as it's starting to find it's way a little better, recent episodes haven't been horrible and some even weaved into the region of 'actually quite good'. But it would seem it's too little too late for the ratings and the network. A shame for the waste of the potential rather than the actual loss of the show.

I'm far more regretful of the loss of potential than the loss of the show. Enterprise could have been great - dear god, did they screw it up though..

Lorna - yeah it was starting to find it's feet finally - way too slow though and it still lacks meaninful characters.

aye well - adieu Enterprise

last week - yeah, i wouldn't have been that bothered, as they'd been trying to improve it but not doing particularly well.

just watched the latest 2-parter though - and that was actually a good one. Shame.

(www.fsl.cs.sunysb.edu) - an interesting note from jms. Would be cool if it happened!

I have to say, I'm not actually that excited by the idea of JMS's take on star trek. I like jms' work, I like Trek, I want them seperate. Trek doesn't need jms to save it. I think what Trek needs is a break, go off air for a few years, see what's happening with sf tv and come back much stronger to a whole new generation.

I'm also not a big fan of the whole "roddenberry's vision" type stuff, star trek evolves, I am not a huge fan of the original series, personally I think the best Trek is the later next generation, the best *of* Trek being the later 1/2 of DS9 which is a direction I don't think Roddenberry would ever have actually taken.

I do however agree with him on the quality of Enterprise and Voyager, while 3 season is a lot of leeway to give a series (that no other sf series is going to get given) Enterprise was finally finding its feet. Voyager took even longer still, or maybe it was just more eratic, I can't really remember. but Voyager didn't lose the ratings - it may have been criticised, but it's ratings didn't plumit as Enterprise's have done.

Rant over, please return to your regular programming.

(www.fsl.cs.sunysb.edu) - a follow up, "I heard from a trusted source that Paramount is giving the Trek TV world a rest for maybe one to two years, depending on circumstances, no matter who would come along to run it."
