Discworld "adult covers"

Something I noticed recently - the Discworld paperbacks are now available with "adult" covers - mostly plain black with a small picture in a corner. I think the fronts look quite classy (although quite a shift in tone from the busy Josh Kirby designs), although I wasn't so sure about the back cover for Mort - a picture of a skull with a gold tooth in it seemed to be aiming more for a horror feel, which doesn't suit the tone of the book. Still, it worked for Harry Potter, and I've seen similar things for "His Dark Materials", so I guess it's a new trend.
