A pretty good article comparing video and sound changes between the original Star Wars and the special editions and the new DVD editions. There'll be followups for the 2 followup movies on that site soon.

nicely done page. It's impressive how much the DVD editions have been cleaned up in terms of image quality. If only they had put the Greedo scene back the way it was...
