I can't think of any other SF series that exceeded 7 seasons. However, it's more common for comedy series, e.g. Cheers, Frasier, Friends. (Soaps don't really count since they just have one everlasting season.) The only grey area is when you have a character lasting for more than 7 years, e.g. O'Brien moving from TNG to DS9, or Angel moving from "Buffy" to "Angel".

Mind you, aside from Trek and Buffy, has any other series actually made it to 7 seasons? Xena, Hercules, Highlander: 6. Sliders, Babylon 5, Quantum Leap: 5. Lois and Clark: 4.
