Hmm, sounds like they've got some decent actors there (although I'll reserve judgement on Bana until I see him as Banner, ahem).

More generally, in a way it's kind of a shame that they haven't gone with a Greek cast. On the other hand, I'd say that colour-blind casting is probably a good thing (more common in the theatre than the cinema), and it worked out ok with Xena :)

More casting news:
Peter O'Toole has been said to have a role, but no mention of who he's playing
Tamer Hasan will play Texan who is head of the Gladiators. I will resist the urge to rant loudly at this.
Michael Clarke Duncan and Claire Forlani have also joined the cast in unconfirmed roles as Ajax and Helen respectively.
Ciaran Hinds is rumoured to be in the lead to play Agamemnon
IMDB is listing Emilio Estevez on the cast as well, but I haven't seen anything else about that.
"Production is scheduled to start in April, 2003 at locations in Morocco on a budget of $100+ million. The production will then move to locations and sets in Malta and the United Kingdom in July and August."

(www.ew.com) - pretty much a complete cast now, including Sean Bean as Odysseus, Peter O'Toole as Priam, Brendan Gleeson (AI, MI2) as Menelaus and Brian Cox (XMen 2) as Agamemnon.
