About ICIS
We are one of the largest Indian societies in the UK, and we aim to promote and raise awareness of Indian Culture.
We hold various events throughout the year, beginning with our annual Meet and Greet, giving Freshers a chance to mingle with each other and be introduced to current committee and some of our "senior" members.
Our next major event is Friction - our first clubbing event of the year, where dance and music fill the scene!
Then there is Just Bollywood, the UK's premier interuniversity Bollywood dance competition, now into it's fifth year!
And how can we forget, ICIS hosts Jashn, in partnership with some of the biggest London universities, a night not to be missed, filled with good food and fantastic entertainment!
Throughout the year we regularly host night outs, sporting events (IndianSoc vs PakSoc anyone?) and numerous other activities engaging students across Imperial.
However, ICIS is, perhaps, best known for our annual culture and variety show, East Meets West, which recently celebrated it's 25th Anniversary. The longest running student show in the UK, East Meets West showcases the varied talents of Imperial students across a number of societies, regularly including PunjabiSoc, Funkology, DramaSoc and many many more! Previously held at prestigious theatres such as the Phoenix Theatre, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Theatre Royal, IndigO2 and most recently, the Mermaid Theatre, EMW continues to raise thousands of pounds for charity and remains at the heart of our charitable efforts every year.
