ICU PhotoSoc is here to cater for all your photographic needs. Whether you are a beginner who wants to get more out of your camera, or a seasoned experts who wants to learn more advanced technique and utilize our many facilities and equipment.

We run a comprehensive series of classes on darkroom technique, camera technique as well as proving a meeting place for those passionate about photography.

Every week we head off to an interesting part of London to take photos or visit an exhibition in some of London’s many galleries. We also have semi-regular weekend trips to places a bit further away.

Join our facebook group and subscribe to our mailing list mailing list, on the left,  for more information on our weekly events.

You can join PhotoSoc by going to the Union website and buying membership which costs £6.  You can also buy a darkroom card for £10 which will allow you access to our darkroom and all its equipment.

We are a well equipped society as we feel that being students good equipment is sometimes prohibitively expensive, which is why we allow all our members to borrow our many cameras, lenses, flashes, lighting, tripods and other equipment.

We also have access to a studio next to the darkroom, along with backdrops and strobe studio lighting. Just get in contact with us to book it.

Visit the equipment page to browse the list and fill in the borrowing request form if you want to borrow anything. We will get back to you with availability and arrange a time to pick up the equipment.

For other clubs and societies, we offer a range of services depending on what you want. Please see the events page for a gallery of some of our event photography work. If you want photos taken of an event, or of your club, or of anything for that matter, just fill in the request form on the events page and we will get back to you to discuss details.

We also have a fully stocked darkroom with paper, chemicals and all the necessary equipment to develop and print. We also run tutorials for those who want to learn how to develop film and print. More information is available on the darkroom section of the website. There is also a dedicated Facebook group, where you can discuss anything darkroom related.
