Some news: A spring term track-work weekend has been arranged and will run from 10 to 11 March. The lecture by Mr. Chris Gibb originally scheduled for 25 Jan has been cancelled as we have not heard back from him. Visit to Tube Lines (1 Feb) has also been cancelled.
The Railway Society at Imperial is comprised of a small group of dedicated railway enthusiasts. We simply enjoy being in and around trains and locomotives. And that's what we do: make sure that we're immersed in this world as much as possible! Our activities include depot visits, talks and track-laying trips. Since the society is of a relatively modest size, every member has the opportunity to play a part in the planning and organising of events.
Moreover, the Railway Society is a great stepping stone to a career in the rail industry. With links to some big names in the industry, some of whom were members of this very club, you would be hard pressed to find a better way to start your working life with the railways.
