Welcome

Imperial College Pugwash is a student group associated with the international Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, which won the 1995 Nobel Peace Prize. The mission of Student Pugwash is to promote the socially responsible application of science and technology in the 21st century, and to encourage young people to examine the ethical, social, and global implications.

The Pugwash Conferences take their name from the location of the first meeting, which was held in 1957 in the village of Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada. You can find more about the conferences' aims and inspiration in our About Pugwash section.

The Imperial College Pugwash group meets for discussions every fortnight during term time. Additionally, there will be meetings with guest speakers, roughly every three to four weeks. All students, staff and Life Members of the Union are welcome. For details of future events, see the club calendar.
