All players on the team lists are entitled to the following benefits:

• Prioritised entry for professional coaching sessions: half of the places available each week are reserved for team members to improve their skills.
• Invitation to team practice sessions: learn from and play against other team members at dedicated times and take part in small competitions.
• Opportunities to compete against other university teams: we will send two teams to compete in the Midlands Universities Snooker Championship and the national BUCS Snooker Championships, plus we may organise friendlies throughout the year to gain experience for the major events.
• Free locker rental: we will waive the usual cost of hiring one of the members' cues lockers in the snooker rooms for those who have previously played on the team.

Team members are selected based on a number of criteria including:

• Performance in previous tournaments, especially external events
• Achievements in our training scheme
• Abilities demonstrated at team trials
• Commitment to team and club events.

No more than 15 players can feature on the team lists at any one time, nor can there be more than five players on either of the first or second teams. As a prerequisite, players must have activated their web site accounts before they can be included on the team lists.

As time progresses and the club holds more events, players' abilities may change and our knowledge of their performances will improve. As such, players can be added to or removed from the team lists at any time during the season.

Unfortunately, as we cannot select Associate and Life Members for any national university event, they are also ineligible for our team lists and the associated benefits. Also, players who cannot attend either of the two major team tournaments may be excluded from the lists at the discretion of the committee, as might those who do not commit their time to the club's events.
