6 October 2010 -- For those who turned up today we hope you all enjoyed yourself and had a fun floorball session! For those who missed today, don't fret! Join us next week at Little Venice Sports Centre for our weekly training sessions from 2-4pm.

Directions for bus-goers would be to board 414 along South Kensington tube station or outside V&A or along Brompton Road! Alight at the stop after seeing Esso along Edgware Road and walk down via Crompton Street (left) to Little Venice Sports Centre.

Now would be a good time as well to sign up for our membership online here! This annual membership fee covers court booking (the bulk of our finances), maintenance and purchasing of new equipment (eg. Additional balls and Goalkeeper set). On top of that, each training session will cost 2 pounds. However, after signing up for our membership, your next training session would be free!

Lastly, to all hopeful or interested league players, please kindly email us atfloorball@ic.ac.uk so we know who you are!

Who are we?
Welcome to the Imperial College Floorball Club! We are a university floorball club that was founded in July 2008 for the students and staff of Imperial College. We train once or twice a week at the Little Venice Sports Centre near Paddington, and compete in the South West League and the University Cup.

What is Floorball?
Floorball is a fun, fast-paced, non-contact sport that originated in Scandinavia and is also known as innebandy, salibandy and unihockey. It is similar to hockey except that it is played indoors with lightweight composite sticks and a hollow plastic ball which can move at up to 100 mph. The lightweight ball and stick make for incredible ball-handling and a safe game. In addition, the rules of floorball forbid high sticks as well as any form of stick or body contact so injuries are kept to an absolute minimum. Floorball is suitable for both men and women of all ages and abilities and is a great way to exercise in an enjoyable and safe environment.

Have a look at our About Floorball page for more information about the sport.

Want to train with us?
Men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome to train with us! Simply drop us an email (Contact Us) to let us know you will be coming and turn up in appropriate indoor attire. We have spare sticks for those without one but please do let us know in advance. Note that your first session is free!

Please see the Training and Fees pages for more information.

Want to play for us?
You must be a club member to play for us in the League and University Cup. Students and staff of Imperial are automatically eligible to become club members. If you are not a student or staff member of Imperial, you can still be a club member but we have to seek approval from the Imperial College Union which funds our club.

Please see the Fees page for more information.
