Dates to Look Out for...

Welcome to the Exploration Society!

As a member you'll get to meet some of the world's top explorers and hear their fascinating stories. ExploSoc doesn't organize it's own expeditions but is here to inspire and encourage you to do so. To this end we organize a series of lectures in the Autumn and Spring term covering a wide range of topics from big wall climbing in Morocco to High Altitude trekking in the Bolivian Andes.

So, if you're an armchair explorer just sit back and enjoy the talks; but for those of you who want to become more active the Society is here to help. As a student at Imperial College you are in a great position as the College has its own Exploration Board, a group of staff and students which meets every December and February to hear expedition proposals. With approval and financial help from the Board your expedition will have a great start.

Above all the Society is a forum for ideas, with interesting people sharing experiences, offering advice and planning future trips.  The talks finish early enough to leave plenty of time for ideas to be floated whilst sinking some pints!

In March of each year the Wilderness Medical Training Course is run at the Royal Geographical Society, which has great rates for student delegates. More information available here.
