Canoe Polo Team

There seems to be quite a lot of interest in starting up a polo team. There is a wiki page on the website ready for you all to add your ideas and views or just to register your interest in playing polo more seriously than we currently do.

Scotland – Winter Tour

We are heading to Fort William again this year over New Year. We stay in an excellent hostel, the paddling is always good and I challenge you to find a better New Year event than the Fort William Ceilidh anywhere in the world.

This trip is more advanced that the normal weekend trips. If you are not sure that you’re up to it but want to come then stick your name down anyway on the wiki page below.

Other than that, don’t forget to check out the photos from the Pub Crawl and the Freshers’ Trip. Plus there is always plenty of chatter on the message board.

Cheers guys,

Tuesday Pool session

Pool Session Every Tuesday!

Freshers trip - Photos & Trip Report

Dear all,

I hope you had a good weekend - I certainly did.

We keep a record of trips that the club has run - I've written a skeleton trip report for the weekend's trip, which you can find here:-

Freshers Trip 2008

If you want to change or add any details, feel free - just click the "edit" link at the top of the page.

You can already see Harry's pictures here

If any of you have photos which you'd like to [add to that collection], then you can upload them yourselves via the following links:-

Saturday - Sprint
Saturday - Lune
Saturday - Night
Sunday - Borrowdale Beck
Sunday - Greta

The only problem with doing that is that you have to do the pictures one at a time. If you have better things to waste your time doing, zip the photos together and send them to me via Imperial FileExchange

Email me the link that it tells you, and I can deal with them.

I hope that we've not scared too many of you away from getting in a boat again - this weekend's level was exceptionally high - hopefully we'll see you all at the Pool Session tomorrow night.

Regards,

Andy Turner -- sent Monday, 27 October, 2008 11:15 AM

Sign up for Surf Trip 6-8th June

We’ll be going to Devon for the weekend of 6-8th June.

Since no-one on committee can come on this trip I need someone to volunteer to be responsible for this trip, during the weekend so that it can go ahead.

Hope everyone’s exams are going well :-)

Mark's BBQ

Dear all

To celebrate the way that summer has nearly arrived (and because we've graduated so don't know what else to do with our weekends) us nice folks at [our house] are having a bbq on the 31st of May. You're all invited.

If the weather is nice we'll be outside, if it's not we'll cram everyone inside, somehow.

If you could e-mail me to give a rough idea of number it would help - otherwise we may run out of food. That would be bad.

Be good to have as many people along as possible.

We'll provide food, you provide refreshments.

From 3pm, Saturday 31st May, in Fulham. Address + Location sent in an email

If it's nice, we'll be on the patio outside.

Hi All

Just a few updates before the start of term:

Minibus cleaning

Many of you will know that we had a few little minibus incidents last term, the result of this is that the union are going to charge us £400 in insurance excesses. However the nice people in the union have given us the option of working off our debt by cleaning minibuses, hence we won’t have to cancel any trips or charge more to pay this off.

We are going to be bus cleaning on Thursday 8th of May from 5pm, it shouldn’t take too long if you can’t get there for 5 come along when you can. There will be some sort of social afterward in the union. It would be great if as many people as possible come along to this to support the guys who drive us around on trips.

Surf trip

There are still a few places left for the surf trip next weekend. We are going to a lovely campsite in Gower for the whole bank holiday weekend, Trip cost will be £35.

Sign up for Surf Trip to Gower

No pool sessions in the summer term

Just a reminder for those of you who don’t already know there are no pool sessions in the summer term, canal trips and possibly a paddle on the Thames will be arranged later on in the term.

AGM 2008

Guys,

Our annual general meeting this year will be held on Thursday the 6th March (2 weeks today), at 1930 at the Plough and Harrow in Hammersmith. For the new members to the club; our AGM is a big social event where we all go out together, have a meal and drinks, elect people for the club committee positions for the next academic year, and just have some fun!

There are 6 committee positions that we need people to stand for:

They're all enjoyable and rewarding positions to hold, so consider giving it a go! (I'm sure you'll all be hassled over the next two weeks to stand for something)! If you need any more information on each position; talk to the current position holder.

The Plough and Harrow is a Wetherspoon, so good, cheap food and drink, open till late, and we don't need to move-on to continue with beers/equivalent afterwards! (Also if we want it Thursday is curry-night in 'spoons :) )! We'll have a function room towards the rear of the pub. The pubs address is 120-124, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 0QU.

There'll be people meeting at the union, leaving there at 1900 if you'd rather meet there than at the venue. We do need a certain turnout for the meeting to be valid so please do come along. The more people there are the better the night will be!

Please reply to this email if you are coming so I have a more accurate idea of numbers! If there is anyone who can't come but does wish to stand for a position, please email me.

See you in 2 weeks time,

Pancakes

It's Shrove Tuesday next week, and Tom has kindly agreed to let us use his big kitchen in pembridge halls!

Next Tue(5th Feb), straight after pool-session we can head over together from the union, then have drinks from supermarket cans/bottles(rather than the union bar) and make and eat many many pancakes! All in the comfort of Pembridge Halls!

Hope to see you next week!

Sam
