Freshers fair 2011
The 4th October was an exciting day for ICSM Surg Soc! Our first event of the year, the Imperial College Fresher's Fair, is one of the busiest and enjoyable days of the academic calendar. Surgical society ambassdors welcomed over 130 students to the society in less than a few hours. Freshers learnt how to remove benign fatty lumps from unsuspecting committee members! First Technology in Medicine and Surgery Conference for ICSM Surgical Society

A Model Patient
Article by Sam Wong, Imperial College Reporter. In the Paterson Wing at St Mary’s Campus, a surgeon tries to stem the flow of blood from a patient who’s been stabbed in the abdomen. As a heart monitor bleeps urgently and fluid continues to emerge, the pressure of the situation is inescapable. Conjoined twins separated by Great Ormond Street doctors
Twins who were born joined at the head have been successfully separated by a team of British doctors. Baby girls Rital and Ritag Gaboura, who are 11 months old, were separated on 15 August after four operations at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Full story
