Welfare

The Fisher Hall Wardening team are responsible for the well-being of all residents, and we take this role extremely seriously.  We are on call every evening and all weekend to sensitively handle any emergencies.  We can also act as your first port of call for help and support on any matters relating to life in halls, and we understand how difficult the transition from home to university life can be.The Warden, Dr Martin Head, has overall responsibility for the hall.  He works at Imperial during the day as a Teaching Fellow in the Centre for Environmental Policy, and has been involved in the Wardening system since 2002.  He is ably assisted by four sub-wardens; Amanda, Cerith, Sarah and Severine (please see the ‘people’ section to find out more about them). They are PhD students, or post-grad medics, who assist the Warden in the running of the hall, as well as playing a big part in organising the social activities and providing pastoral care under the guidance of the Warden.A member of the team is on duty from 6pm to 8am weekdays and all weekend.  We can be contacted by phone by dialing 57647 from any College extension, email (fswd [AT] imperial.ac.uk), or come and see us in person at the hall office during opening times, or around the hall (we operate an open-door policy). Please get in touch or come and see us if you need someone to talk to about any emotional problems, difficulties with roommates, study-related or financial issues. The Wardening team will keep everything confidential.

If we cannot help immediately, we are able to point you in the right direction to find help elsewhere in the College.  Other than the Wardening team, Imperial College has a vast array of support services available.  These services exist to help you, so please do not hesitate to contact them if you ever feel the need.  Please click here to find out more about each of the services offered by the College.

We wish you a healthy and happy time in Fisher Hall, but don’t forget we are here to help with any problems that arise.

The Fisher Hall Wardening Team.
