For most emergencies, your first port of call will probably be the duty warden, but we have listed below other possible scenarios so you know what to do and who to contact if the need is urgent.
Fire Alarm
If there is a fire alarm you must evacuate Fisher Hall as quickly and calmly as possible and gather quietly on the pavement across the street, during a fire alarm you may exit from all houses if there is a fire blocking one of the main entrances. Do not re-enter until one of the wardens had told you that it is safe to do so.
Intruders
If you suspect an intruder please call the duty warden (57647) or college security (4444) as soon as possible. Do not confront them unless you feel it is completely safe to do so.
If you are burgled…
Call the police immediately then call the duty warden (57647). If you think the burgler may still be inside do not enter. Resist the urge to tidy up any mess until the police have done their work. The police will take the details of the crime and issue you with a crime number which you can use to claim on your insurance. If any credit/debit cards/cheque books are missing call the issuer as soon as possible to cancel them.
If you are attacked…
Make a scene. Scream as loud as possible to try to gain the attention of others around you so that they can get help. Try all possible ways to get away and always be thinking of ways to free yourself. Call the police as soon as you can and seek medical attention if required. Consider counselling. Remember that the duty warden (57647) is also there for you should you need to talk.
Accidents, Illness and Personal Injury
Depending on the severity of the illness or injury you should call the duty warden (57647) and/or any of the numbers listed below in the emergency contacts for the health centre, Chelsea and Westminster hospital, NHS direct or an ambulance.

- Emergency Services – 999 (includes ambulance)

Floods
If your room is flooded from broken water pipes or rain ingress, please call the duty warden if during the evening or weekend. If unable to contact duty warden call security on 4444.
During normal office hours (Mon-Fri), call Village Manager’s Office (House 44) on 45921 or Security on 4444.
