Its not all work, work, work at Imperial, so take your stresses and strains out on a couple of poor defenseless pins. The Tenpin Bowling club is here for you to take advantage of, and is open to all abilities and all styles. We get chauffeured to the Charrington Bowl, Tolworth, (just next to Tolworth BR station) every Wednesday, and after each bowling session, we venture in to Southside to eat, drink and be merry.
Throughout
the year we organise three internal leagues, a trios, doubles and a singles
competition. Don’t worry if you don’t think you can bowl: the trios and
doubles tournaments are handicapped, which means everyone’s got an even
chance of winning. As well as the internal league we compete in a nationwide
league, the UCTBA championship, where the best bowlers from the club are
chosen to compete. During the past few years we have had considerable success
in this competition.
Each week a coach comes along to help guide a few bowlers towards that elusive 300. There are also many experienced members in the club who will be able to give a few pointers towards better bowling.
We are a very friendly and close-knit club. Many have been bitten by the bowling bug and revel in the company of fellow sufferers. So if you feel you should be doing something sporty on a Wednesday afternoon (yes, it’s true, tenpin bowling is a sport!) but don’t want to do anything too strenuous, come bowling. It’s fun.
Meetings: Wednesdays, 2:15pm, aero eng foyer
