About the club

The club accepts swimmers from a wide range of abilities; from those who simply wish to learn new strokes to those who compete at a National level, almost everyone will fit into our club. At present we have the whole pool for all sessions and split the five lanes according to ability. The first two lanes are reserved for swimmers who want to improve but don't swim competitively, whilst the top three lanes are for more experienced members who want to represent the college at competitions.

The club has two professional coaches who coach our swimming sessions three times a week. This aids the development of both competitive and non-competitive swimmers, as well as promoting improvement at the BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) competitions.

Student members of the club are eligible to register with the ASA for just £5 for the year, forms for this registration can be downloaded from the news page. Along with the newly created ULU Swimming League this has allowed us to expand the competitive side of the club, providing entry into a wider range of competitions along with our place in the BUCS. We have seen swift improvement in the standard of the club by enabling more swimmers to gain valuable competition experience.

For those prospective members who are not interested in competing please do not be scared away. Swimming is a great form of exercise and we also have a great social set up. So you can burn those calories while having fun!
