Welcome to the website

The sailing club at Imperial College has a fleet of six Fireflies, which are ideal for team racing. The club sails sailing boats on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings during term time. The Wednesday sessions are more beginner orientated and the Saturday sessions geared towards racing, but everyone is encouraged to come to every session . We sail at the Welsh Harp reservoir in Wembley and our activities range from social "learn-to-sail" days to training for team racing events.

The College uses a clubhouse owned by BTYC equipped with hot showers and a bar. It is a 45-minute tube and bus journey from South Kensington.

The club attends weekend events hosted by other universities, with racing and socials. For those interested, there are also both team and fleet racing events organised at the reservoir, including club racing with Wembley Sailing Club. The club also competes in the BUSA team racing championships.

The club is ideal both for those with previous sailing experience and those wanting to learn. We have a fully qualified instructor available every Wednesday and extra tuition can be arranged much cheaper than the RYA courses.
