Opportunities within the ICRPC

ICRPC is proud to be able to put forward first-rate teams for competition, some of the world's best shooters have been members of the club, and this is a tradition we intend to continue. If you have the dedication to train hard and train regularly, in a port that can be immensely frustrating at times, you could find yourself shooting for the College, or greater!

We offer the chance of competition against other universities and non-university clubs, as well as internal competitions. Trophies, medals and glory are up for grabs regardless of experience. All competitions are shot in classes, where competitors are grouped according to their ability. So a complete novice will not have to shoot against the best in the world.

Dedication to your training and getting involved with the running of the club and social events will be rewarded regardless of how good your scores are. This is a good opportunity to earn College Sports Colours, and often we have members of the club prove themselves worthy of such.

The committee for running the club is elected each year and this is your chance to display your leadership qualitities to the full. ICRPC has one of the biggest memberships of all the college clubs and a correspondingly large budget. In addition to this we have a great responsibility to safely manage our firearms - the logistics of moving rifles around s far more tricky than taking a football to the park for a kick around! There are several legal responsibilities in running the club, something you won't find in any other sport clubs and you may find yourself working with the Home Office and the local firearms officer of the Metropolitan Police.

We are always looking for reliable and responsible people to help manage the club - if you're dedicated to your shooting and think you could run a large and complex club get involved!

There is also the chance to train with the Great Britain Under 25 Rifle Team. Maybe once or twice a year members get invited to training weekends with the GBU25's, which is a great opportunity to get yourself noticed at international level.
