With last night’s victory over Brunel and Sussex, ICAC is now on track for yet another year of achievements in the SEAL league!

At the match hosted by Imperial, the Imperial team, with 9 seniors and 7 novices, was faced by a team of 10 archers from Brunel (with Sussex being absent from the match). After a somewhat smooth standard Portsmouth round, with a little extra provided by a bouncer at the very last end, Imperial finished with an easy win over Brunel.

    Results are as follow:

    • In senior ladies recurve, Rachel Brook was in 3rd place, with 60 hits, 11 golds and 438. Alex Crampton-Platt won the category with 60 hits, 19 golds and 525.
    • In senior gents recurve, all 3 places were filled by Imperial archers. In 3rd was Chris Eames, with 60 hits, 14 golds and 532. In 2nd place was Edmund Lam, with 60 hits, 20 golds and 537. Jordan Muscatello won the category with 60 hits, 31 golds and 569.
    • In novice ladies recurve, Maria Papallou, being the only Imperial representative in the category, won with 59 hits, 3 golds and 418. Well done!
    • In novice gents recurve, Stephen Wood was in 2nd place with 60 hits, 4 golds and 425. The category was won by Nathan March, with 59 hits, 6 golds and 429.
    • In senior team Imperial won with 240 hits, 84 golds and 2163 vs Brunel, who scored 239 hits, 41 golds and 1891. The Imperial senior team comprises Jordan, Edmund, Chris and Alex.
    • In novice team Imperial won with 178 hits, 13 golds and 1272 vs Brunel, who scored 176 hits, 11 golds and 1215. The Imperial novice team comprises Nathan, Stephen and Maria.

Also, after playing this match, Imperial is on the top of the SEAL league in both senior and novice leagues, followed by Surrey and ULU in the senior and Essex and Southampton in the novice league.

The next Imperial match in SEAL league is on 31st January 2009 vs Surrey and Reading, to be hosted by Surrey.

This Sunday (16th November) the Club will shoot its first match in the SEAL leaguge (South Eastern Archery League). In this first of the 4 schedules matches, the Club will shoot against Brunel and Sussex at Wilson House. As the date approaches, Imperial archers are all once again getting ready for another match and hopefully more victory from our strong history in SEAL leagues.

On the senior category, 9 senior members will be shooting for Imperial. After a one week badge nomination period, all 9 seniors have nominated for a badge, either progressing from Stag Hill or entering the badge system for the first time. Here is a list of the senior squad, with the badge nominations:

    • Jordan Muscatello- Full Gold
    • Chris Eames- Full Red
    • Alexandra Crampton-Platt- Full Black
    • Robin Baumgarten- Full Black
    • Edmund Lam – Full White
    • Rhys Coombs – Half Gold
    • Ian Connelly – Half Black
    • Rachel Brook – Half Black
    • Ashley Throop – Half White

The club also welcomes 7 novices to the novice squad, which has been selected after the the mini-competition during the Halloween Fun Shoot and the subseqent qualifer rounds. All members of the novice will receive an open nomination from the badge system, which entitles them to the highest level badge their scores allow.

So once again from the Records Officer good luck to the seniors on nominations, as well as novices on achieving the badges and potentially some impressive scores!

Please note also that, since Imperial is hosting the match, the usual training session on Sunday 16th November will be cancelled. Members of ICAC are welcome to speculate, but there will be no shooting on that day.
