Dojo and Directions

We train at Sherman Lounge Wilson House, 38-76 Sussex Gardens, Paddington, London, W2 1UF. This is easy for first years living in Wilson House halls, but for the rest of us it means a tube ride or a walk across Hyde Park

Important: To get into the Recreation centre you will need to get your college swipe card enabled at the Security office on the ground floor of the Sherfield building. If you are unsure about this just e-mail us and we can let you in.

 

How to get there:

Tube: The closest underground station is Paddington which is five stops away from South Ken on the Circle Line. Leave the station and walk up Praed St. in the direction of 'Burger King' and 'McDonald's' and up towards St. Mary's Hospital. On arrival at St. Mary's Hospital turn right into Norfolk street and walk past a shop called 'Books & Mags' then left into Star Street. When you reach a junction in the road turn right into Southwick St. Enter the Recreation Centre via Rainsford St. (The ally next to the Cubana bar).

Walking: The quickest way to walk is directly across Hyde park. Enter Hyde park by the gate at the top of Exhibition Rd and follow the footpath. This will take you past the Serpentine Gallery and over the Serpentine itself. It takes about 25 minutes to reach Bayswater Road. Here you should cross directly and cut through to Sussex Gardens (use the map for that bit). Cross over and turn left into Southwick St. When you reach the 'Monkey Puzzle Pub' and enter the Recreation Centre via Rainsford St. (The ally next to the Cubana bar).
